The event is open to the public, free of charge and will run through April 29th, 2018
Mother Nature had her way with Curator Ellen Martin and the five artists who make up “In The Woods,” her first exhibition at the Oyster Point Hotel. On Friday, March 2nd, the night of the Opening Reception, not only did it snow like mad, the lights went out in the Hotel for over an hour. However, due to the kindness of Hotel Vice President Kevin Barry, they are having an artists’ reception (can’t call it an opening now, can you?), this Friday, April 6th from 6 – 8 p.m. Docent-led tours will begin at 5:15 and 6:15 p.m. in the Lobby.
“In The Woods” features the work of five artists who create colorful, unusual and exciting wood wall sculptures. Jose Antonio Arvelo Delgado, Laura Petrovich-Cheney, Abby Levine, Amy Puccio and Michael Short show us how diverse the work of artists who work in wood can be. They work with saws and sanders; they wear protective equipment; they ‘shop’ in dumpsters and demolition sites, and they create works that are evocative, idealistic and whimsical.
They would love to meet you this Friday. Come and enjoy the beautiful Oyster Point Hotel on the Navesink River. It’s a free event and everyone is invited. The exhibit will run through Sunday, April 29th so stop in any time if you can’t make the opening.
